Mario brings more than 30 years of experience across the property, construction and infrastructure sectors, with senior leadership and project delivery experience across client-side, consultancy and contractor environments. This breadth of experience gives him a well-rounded understanding of projects from the perspectives of asset owners, clients, advisers and delivery teams.

His experience spans horizontal infrastructure, industrial, commercial, education, health, residential development, social housing, seismic strengthening, horticulture developments and complex capital programmes. He has led multi-disciplinary teams and managed projects and programmes across the full project lifecycle — from early strategy, feasibility and business case development through procurement, design, construction and successful delivery.

Mario has significant client-side experience, representing and protecting the interests of asset owners and organisations while leading complex projects and programmes. His experience includes governance and stakeholder management, procurement and delivery strategy, consultant and contractor management, commercial management, risk, programme and financial oversight.

A particular strength is his ability to combine project delivery expertise with strong commercial, financial and analytical capability. Mario has extensive experience in project financial analysis, feasibility studies, scenario analysis and planning, business case development, cost and investment evaluation, and assessment of alternative delivery options. This enables him to provide clear, evidence-based advice and help clients make well-informed investment and delivery decisions.

As a Director of IPMS, Mario is focused on supporting the continued growth of the business across New Zealand, building enduring client relationships and strengthening IPMS’s capability to deliver successful outcomes for its clients.
