IPMS was engaged by a Christchurch and Auckland-based company to be their local on-the-ground representative, liaising directly with Pacific Coast Village. IPMS was charged with regaining control of the project planning and coordination of all entities – from design of infrastructure and in-ground services, roading and facility construction, to programming of supplies and contractors, and implementing the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Plan.
IPMS began by setting out a management structure and a Project Control Group (PCG), establishing, coordinating and recording weekly PCG meetings. IPMS coordinated discussions among the key project representatives to ensure everyone understood each other’s requirements. The team then set out a master timeline for all the development requirements up until the handover signoff and point of sale.
The result was a fully coordinated operation from the design phase right through site development and to sales. IPMS’ input meant a more cost efficient operation and a safe working environment for all contractors. It also sped up the rates of completion of the villas, to meet demand.
