We were contracted to be the local on-the-ground representatives, to liaise directly with Pacific Coast Village. It was our role to oversee project planning and the coordination of all entities – from design of infrastructure and in-ground services, roading and facility construction, to programming of supplies and contractors, and implementing the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Plan.
As such, we set out a new management structure and a Project Control Group (PCG), which involved regular meetings to track progress. We also coordinated discussions among the key project representatives, to ensure everyone understood each other’s requirements, and developed a master timeline through to handover signoff and point of sale.
Bringing our team on board meant a more cost-efficient operation and a safe working environment for all contractors. It also sped up the rates of completion to meet demand.
